This is an "Outstanding" Specialist college offering life-changing learning opportunities to students.

They have eight vibrant centres across London and Surrey where committed, specialist teams deliver a range of programmes to meet the needs of their students.

Students who study with them have a wide range of needs including:

  • Profound and multiple learning disabilities
  • Moderate learning difficulties
  • Physical and sensory impairments
  • Mental health and/or emotional difficulties
  • Communication and behavioural difficulties
  • Social and communication disorders e .g. Autistic Spectrum Disorders
  • Specific medical needs

All students are individuals, and each programme is as unique as they are. Their programmes are designed to support and empower each student to achieve their aspirations and goals, whilst developing skills to become more independent members of their community.

To achieve their aims the whole team works together too:

  • Create a positive, supportive ethos believing this generates high expectations and achievement
  • Help children realise their potential by adopting teaching styles and learning incentives differentiated to meet individual needs, en gaging them in decision-making, facilitating personal autonomy
  • Acknowledge and reinforce effort and achievement, encouraging independence, leading to a sense of fulfilment and a growing appreciation of self-worth
  • Create a stimulating safe, fun, and healthy environment in which children enjoy their learning, are happy and feel valued as individuals

Suitable candidates will have:

  • Good general education levels in English and Maths
  • Knowledge, keen interest, and understanding of the range of different types of learning disabilities
  • Ability to adapt to various working environments and students with differing abilities
  • Flexible in terms of working patterns

Please note, successful applicants will be subject to references and up-to-date DBS, or be willing to apply for a Starfyn Education DBS.
